Traditional retention wires

A traditional retention wire is usually attached to the inner surfaces of the front teeth. It is discreet and, because it is fixed in place, does not require constant remembering. In selected situations, a traditional retention wire can be bonded at the clinic without ordering a wire from a dental laboratory, but a more precise wire is obtained by ordering it from a dental laboratory.

Memotain wires

Memotain is an individually computer-manufactured retention wire that ensures an accurate fit. It is made from a so-called memory metal, which allows it to retain its shape for years.

IVOTAIN wires

Ivotain is an individual, metal-free retention wire made from medically approved PEEK plastic. The manufacturing method follows a computer-guided process similar to that of Memotain. Ivotain is discreet and an excellent option for maintaining the treatment result.

Removable appliances

Retention aligners

Transparent retention aligners are a popular way to maintain the treatment result. They are computer-manufactured based on a digital model and fit precisely over the teeth. Retention aligners can also be used together with retention wires and are typically worn at night.

Vivera retention aligners

Vivera is an individually manufactured retention aligner that belongs to the Invisalign system and is designed to maintain the result achieved with orthodontic treatment. Due to their multilayer plastic structure, Vivera retention aligners are durable and of excellent quality.

Essix retention aligners

Essix-type retention aligners are thin, transparent maintenance aligners that are widely used after orthodontic treatment. They are made in a local dental laboratory and can often be delivered quickly for the patient’s use.

Retention plates

A retention plate is a traditional removable retainer that is an excellent maintenance option in certain situations. Today, however, retention aligners have largely replaced the use of retention plates.

Which retainer is right for me?

The best solution depends on the original bite problem, the treatment carried out, oral hygiene and everyday needs. Often, the best result is achieved by combining a fixed retention wire with a removable appliance.
